It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellen Lorene Byrd of Elkin, North Carolina, who passed away on December 13, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Preston Glenn and Bertie Ruth Andrews Roberts; and her husband Richard Gwyn Byrd. She is survived by: her children, Vonda Agha (Haroon) and Richard Byrd (Tammie); her grandchildren, Jordan Agha and Nicholas Byrd; her stepgrandchildren, Kimberli Jennings and Michael Jennings; and her sisters, Irene Mabe and Glenna Mabe (Bob). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family.
