She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Martin and Sarah Jane Luffman Martin; her husband Franklin Delano Simmons; her daughter Peggy Simmons Slawter; her granddaughter Brittany Slawter; and her siblings, Marlene Webster and Dwight Martin.

She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Wagoner (Peegie) of State Road and Susan Worth (Bobby) of Mt. Airy; her son-in-law Mike Slawter of State Road; her grandchildren, Daniyel Kennedy Bates (Toddy), Presley Macemore (Dustin), Ryan Worth and Sydney Worth; and her great grandchildren, Parker Bates, Kolsen Macemore, Emorie Macemore, Toddy Bates, Ronnie Webster, Ryan Worth, Phil Webster, Dustin Macemore, Mark Webster and Chris Webster.
