He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jessie Blackburn and Lou Ada Blackburn (Griffin); his wife Robin Blackburn (Crabb); his children, Jessica Blackburn (Jason Love) of Thurmond and Corey Blackburn; his siblings, Eddie Blackburn of Elkin, Debbie Simpson (Larry Simpson) of Elkin and Tammy Hutchens (Steven Hutchens) of Elkin; and his grandchildren, Taylor Love and Bryson Love.
