He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Carter and Ethel Shore Carter; and his siblings, Ralph Carter, EraLee Durham, Betty Cockerham, Katherine Wilmoth and Annie Faye Greene.
He is survived by: his daughters, Robin Minton (Jackie) and Melissa White (Brent); his brothers, Leamon Carter (Doris) of Elkin and Barry Carter (Vivian) of Elkin; his grandchildren, Jade Tate (Andrew), Logan Minton and Emily Minton; and his great grandchildren, Hayden Tate and Jack Minton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
