He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Blackburn and Betress Spicer Blackburn; and his siblings, J. T. Blackburn, William Blackburn, Mary Lou Billings and Ola Mae Settle.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Blackburn; his children, Ray Blackburn (Allison) of Hamptonville, Dillon Blackburn of Elkin and Susan Blackburn of Wilkesboro; his stepchildren, Bradley Rogers, Richard Rogers and Kayla Rogers; his grandchildren, Michelle Riddle, Matthew Riddle, Troy Blackburn, Will Blackburn, Megan Blackburn and Conway Blackburn; and his stepgrandson Rhett Rogers. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Center Baptist Church (2948 S Center Church Rd, Thurmond, NC 28683). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
