He was predeceased by: his parents, Weaver Settle and Ruth Shore Settle; his wife Willie "Bill" Collins Settle; his son Billy Gwyn Settle; his brother Frankie Yarboro; and his nephew John "Little John" Yarboro.
He is survived by: his children, Charles R. Settle and Elizabeth King; his brother Eddie J. Yarboro (Mary); his grandsons, Justin L. Settle (Katie) and David A. Cooper (Stacey); his great grandchildren, Britton Settle (Alexis), Elijah Settle, Julia Settle, Charity Strickland, Faith Strickland and Liam Cooper; and his great great grandchildren, Emeline Settle, Charlie Settle and Alex Settle.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Poplar Springs Baptist Church (193 Fellowship Way, State Rd, NC 28676). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
