Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Carolyn Herndon Gentry of Elkin, North Carolina, born in Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away at the age of 67, on January 1, 2022. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Herndon and Clara Moses Herndon; and her husband Timothy Wayne Gentry. She is survived by: her children, Ben Gentry (Alicia), Molly Fitzsimons (Patrick) and Nick Gentry; her grandchildren, Matthew, Jack Gentry, Eli and Adelynn Fitzsimons; her siblings, Beth Payne (Lester) and William R. Herndon III (Merle); her sister-in-law Johnnie Gentry; and her aunt Lynn Haynes. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests everyone in attendance wear a mask and practice social distancing.
