He was predeceased by: his parents, Everette Darnell and Mozelle Benge Darnell; and his siblings, Jim, Arvil Darnell and Louise Blackburn.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Felts Darnell; his daughters, Pamela Lyon (Alan) of Winston Salem and Jennifer Lane (Mark) of Elkin; his brother Bill Darnell (Judy) of Elkin; and his grandchildren, Emily Nye (Fraser), Madison Aleshire (Jeremy) and Macy Lane.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Grassy Creek United Methodist Church (291 Klondike Rd, State Rd, NC 28621). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
The family will accept flowers or memorials can be made to Grassy Creek Untied Methodist Church, 291 Klondike Road, State Road, N.C. 28676.
