It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Abraham Lincoln Hanks (Elkin, North Carolina), who passed away on March 28, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Heggins Hanks and Lewis Hanks; and his granddaughter Ashtyn Hanks. He is survived by: his wife Hazel Hanks of Elkin; his children, Scottie Vanhoy of Elkin and Jerry Hanks of State Road; and his stepdaughter Kathy Lyon (Keith) of Elkin. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
