He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Clyde" Bunton and Rebecca "Ruth" Farthing; his brothers, Allen (Lois) and Ted Bunton (Thelma); and his grandsons, Ben Bonnett-Bunten and David Chad Bunten.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Grace Arnette; his sons, Greg, Jeff (Mickie), Teddy (Shelby) and Tim (Susan); his grandchildren, Josh Bunten (Ashley), Rebekah Morris (Dlyan), Stephen Bunten (Cheryl), Maria Florczak (David), Andy Bunten, Ashley and Braydon Bonnett-Bunten (Carson Bunten); and his great grandchildren, Landon, Kimberly, Adeline, Sophie, Asa, Leah, Oaklyn, Emberlyn, Andriana, Aiden, Arianna, Ava and Ryan.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Austin and Barnes Funeral Home (194 Queen St, Boone, NC 28607). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mount Gilead Baptist Church.
