He was predeceased by: his father Samuel McLester Trivette, Sr.; his father-in-law Conrad Rufus Ward; and his brother-in-law Bob Rogers. He is survived by: his mother Velma Ruth Greene Trivette; his wife Leta Ward Trivette; his children, Beth Dishman (Carter) of Sugar Grove, Heather Trivette Lyons of Elk Park, Sammy Joe Trivette (Michele) of Banner Elk and Brett Trivette of Newland; his grandchildren, Ida Grace, Anna Dishman, Addison Trivette, Noah Cash Dishman, Jett Lyons and Weston Trivette; and his siblings, Betsy Kuser (John) of Toledo, Gloria Rogers of Catawba Island and Glenn Trivette. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
