It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Jane Benfield of Elk Park, North Carolina, who passed away on March 21, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her son Jerry Wayne Benfield, Sr.; and her sister Lois Harmon. She is survived by: her husband Hue James Benfield; her children, Karen McMahan of Bakersville, NC, James Benfield (Angelia) of Burnsville, NC, Johnny Dale Benfield (Pamela) of Newland, NC and Ron Benfield of Newland, NC; her daughter-in-law Kathy Benfield of Newland, NC; her sisters, Rosalie Vance (Hayden) of Newland, NC, Pat Vance of Newland, NC and Wanda Cannon of Lenoir, NC; her grandchildren, Kenny, Lisa (Cleve), Lily (Cody), Anna (Devin), Tiffany, Cody, James, Christy (JR), Dora, Nicole (George) and Little Jerry; and her great grandchildren, Isaiah, Andy, Peyton, Daisy, Christany, Kendra, Aubree, Dannie, Timothy, Remileah, RuthAnn, Austin, Reed, Memphis, James, Noah, Maci, Diane and Harper.
