He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Floyd Hicks and Bonnie Victoria Harris Hicks; his wife Goldie Blanche Presnell Hicks; and his siblings, Iva Lee Presnell and Doyle Hicks.
He is survived by: his children, Bonita Wilcox (Billy) of Vilas, Robert 'Bob' Hicks of Gatlinburg and Mikeal Hicks of Elk Park; his grandsons, Luke Wilcox of Vilas, Matthew Hicks (Tanya McCloud) of Mountain City, Jake and Kevin Hicks of Gatlinburg; and his brother William Filmore "Buck" Hicks of Elk Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hicks Family Cemetery, in care of Mikeal Hicks, 214 Coy Harris Road, Elk Park, NC 28622.
