It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Roger Oaks of Elk Park, North Carolina, who passed away on March 6, 2025, at the age of 51, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Amanda Oaks; and his grandparents, Bob Turbyfill and Mary Sue Legendre. He is survived by: his parents, Shirley Turbyfill Stidham of Elk Park, NC. and Rush; his daughter Samantha Thompson (Jeffrey); his grandsons, Jakob and Kenny; his brother Charles Oaks (Miriam) of Sylva, NC; his niece Tamara (family: Marrissa, Tessa); and his nephew Liam.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Newland Presbyterian Church (199 Elk St, Newland, NC 28657). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests no flowers, and wishes memorials in lieu of flowers be made to the family.
