He was predeceased by: his parents, Bascom Matheson and Letha Smith Matheson; his children, Christopher Matheson, Faith Matheson and Tabitha Matheson; and his grandchild Izabella Matheson.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Matheson; his children, George Matheson (Crystal) of Bladenboro and Casey Matheson of Elizabethtown; his sister Teresa Callihan of Clarkton; and his grandchildren, Steven Matheson, Kymani Matheson, CJ Matheson, Burney, Georgia Matheson and Kaarel Johnson.
