She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Arthur Vance and Mary Morris Sugg; and her sister Mary Susan Sugg Hill. She is survived by: her husband Clemuel Mansey Johnson; her children, Ann Bramble (Mike), Art Johnson (Johanna), Tillie Clark (Stephen), Lee Johnson (Tara), Alice Johnson and Morris Johnson (Beth); her grandchildren, Jenny Bramble, Elizabeth, Laura J. Smith (Bryson), Carmen Johnson, Mary Katherine Clark, Will Clark, Eli Johnson (Anna), Jared Johnson, Hanna Haynes, Brenna Haynes, Grace Johnson and Robert Morris; her great grandchild Calvin Johnson; her stepgrandchildren, Blair Baldwin (Tom Anderson) and James Baldwin; her pet Truffles; and her sister Martha Sugg Fleming (Bill) of Morganton, NC..
