With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin Hayes of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, born in York, South Carolina, who passed away on August 21, 2022 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Stacey Hayes; and his brothers, Frederick and Bruce Hayes. He is survived by: his children, Michael Blair Hayes (Elaine), Andrew Jonathan Hayes (Kristie), John Christopher Hayes and Elizabeth Blair Hayes; his sister Vernice Nies (Bill); his grandchildren, Lyndsey Denaro, Michael Hayes Jr., Daniel Patrick Blair Hayes, Abigail Grace Hayes, Jonathan Caleb Hayes and Andrew Joshua Hayes; and his great grandchild Wesley Denaro.
