It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth A. Byrd Sr. of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, who passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Lee Byrd and Edna Faye Harrellson Gurgainus; and his stepparents, Esther Byrd and Roy Gurgainus. He is survived by: his wife Debby Byrd; his children, Devin Byrd Weingarten (Adam) of Sumter, SC, Kenneth A. Byrd, Jr. (Tammy) of Stedman, NC, Jennifer Byrd of Fayetteville, NC and Ashley Rogers of Fayetteville, NC; his grandchildren, Kenneth A. Byrd III, Isabella Ruth Rogers, Bayleigh Byrd, Daniel Chapman, Jr., Noah Weingarten, Hunter Chapman and Nicky Loree; his sisters, Theresa McPherson of Whiteville, NC, Brenda Lynn (Jeff) and Vickie Dixon of Whiteville, NC; his aunt Judy Stewart (Kennith); his niece Teresa Hodge (Ryan); and his close friend Teresa Miller.
