He is survived by: his wife Mary Lyndia Avant of Elizabethtown, NC; his children, Kelly Avant Crabill (Rob), Chris Avant (Amber), Julie Avant Evers (Frank) and Neil Avant (Felecia); his siblings, James Earl Avant, Iris Avant Goins and Pam Avant Benton; and his grandchildren, Cameron Crabill, Luke Avant, Parker Crabill, Courtney Evers, Josh Evers and Devin Avant.
