He is survived by: his wife Effie Mae Johnson Highsmith; his daughters, Yolanda Lenora Highsmith and Angela Yvette Highsmith (Toriano) of Wendell, NC; his aunt Marie Henry; his grandchildren, Jamel Highsmith, Randolph Barnes II, Charity Highsmith and Timothy Armstrong; his great grandchild Melia Turner Highsmith; and his friend Minnie Hawkins. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
