He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Seals and Annie Ruth Jernigan Seals; his daughter Odessa "Ruthie" Seals; and his sister Linda Seals Smith. He is survived by: his siblings, Dwight Seals of Elizabethtown, Vincent Seals of Elizabethtown and Vanessa Cain (E. Braxton Oxendine) of Wilmington; his close friend Rachel Singletary; and his friends, Ray, Wanda Britt, Susie Inman, Faye Womble and Ralph Hester. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Boys & Girls Home of Lake Waccamaw where he worked as a counselor early in his career.
