She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Alvin Gaston Hester and Lizzie Mae Hester of Bladenboro; and her siblings, Evalina H. Pait, Arbutus H. Pitman, Jeanette H. Ross and Alvin Gaston Hester, Jr. of Bladenboro.
She is survived by: her sister Libby; her daughter Heather Guyton Thompson; her son-in-law Patrick (Robert Britt) of Bladenboro; her brother-in-law Eddie Ross of Burgaw; her sister Doretha Edwards (John) of Bladenboro; her brother-in-law Matthew Pittman of Lumberton; her friends, Donna and John Lashley; and her pet Nick "Nikki" Sabon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
