She was predeceased by: her husband Rudolph H Cook; her parents, Carl Gooden and Evelyn Gooden; and her siblings, Merle Gooden Miller, Nadine Gooden Evans and Major John C Gooden.
She is survived by: her sisters, Florence Gooden Cox of Clarkton, NC and Marsha Gooden Faucette of Midlothian, VA; her grandchildren, Farah Gainey Vann (Eric) of Tarpon Springs, FL and Melissa Gainey King (Brent) of Woodstock, GA; and her great grandchildren, Austin Vann, Garrison Vann, Declan Vann, Mazie King, Graham King and Claire King.
