She was predeceased by: her mother Bertha Johnson Garrell; her former husband Herbert Harris Hanna; and her siblings, Frances G. Cox, Berniece G. Dunnagan, Sara G. Stephens, Dick Garrell and Duke Garrell.

She is survived by: her husband Herb; her daughter Elizabeth Hanna Sasser (Alan) of Elizabethtown; her sister Dulcie G. Bunn of Whiteville, NC; and her grandchildren, Erin Sasser Lail (Phillip) of Wilmington, NC and Ryan Harris Sasser of Elizabethtown.
