With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donna Lou Simmons of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, who passed away on June 18, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Sloan and Helen Sarah Norris; her husband Donald "Peanut" Smith; and her siblings, Willie Hampton Norris, Howard Ashley Norris, Shirley "Pat" King and Hazel Norris Merritt.
She is survived by: her daughter Cyndia Smith; her sister Nita Merrit; her stepchildren, Stan Simmons (Jennie) of Elizabethtown, Lynn Brisson (Nile) of Elizabethtown and Carla Evans (Tony) of Elizabethtown; her grandchildren, Heath Britt, Ashley Berdeau (Brandon) and Krystle Russell; and her stepgrandchildren, Jeff Brisson (Tammy), Brittney Allen (Jordan), Alex Peterson (Daniel), Noah Simmons (Aspen), Eli Simmons (Kaylie), Ashley Bunnell (Trey) and Samantha Abernathy (David). She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
