He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Lee Smith and Letha Victoria Smith; his wife Anne Davis Smith; and his siblings, Howard Smith, Esteline Allbright, Estelle Johnson, Letha "Tootsie" Matheson and Elmarie Davenport.
He is survived by: his children, Ashley Smith of Gastonia and Kelly Smith Humphrey (Jack) of Wilmington; and his siblings, Jimmy Smith (Nancy) of Bladenboro and Esther Oliver (Walt) of Bladenboro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Wesley's Chapel, 2409 Peanut Rd, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
