He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Ruth I. White; his daughter Lauretta Powell; his grandchildren, Michael, Jr. and Katina Powell-Harley (Thomas); and his great grandchildren, Mikiah Powell, Danielle Harley, Hezakiah, Michael and IlI. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
