Moore Jr. of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 85, on November 12, 2024. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Walter may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Louis Moore, Sr. and Marie Theresa Zollner Moore; and his daughter Debbie Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Louise Ledford Moore; his children, Louanna Stuter (Joe) of Elizabeth City, NC, Timothy Moore of Chesapeake, VA and Michael Moore (Janel) of Waynesboro, VA; and his sister Wendy Overby. He is also survived by his six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Twiford Funeral Homes (405 E Church St, Elizabeth City, NC 27907).
