She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Dance and Estelle Virginia Sylvester Dance; her husband Joe Willie Walston, Jr.; her children, Alan Leon Walston and Jean Paulette Mullen; her grandchildren, Robert Steven Walston and DoRhonja Jackia Mullen; and her siblings, James Dance, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Barnes.

She is survived by: her sons, Kevin E. Walston, Sr. (Michelle) and Daryl L. Walston (Joyce). She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
