She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginius Dare "Bill" Powers and Mildred Mizzell Powers; her husband Joseph Lee Mcpherson; her children, Anita Kennedy, Patricia Faye Mcpherson and Phillip Keith Mcpherson; and her siblings, Mary Inez Sawyer, Sandra "Bunch" Kline, Donald "Buddy" Powers, Melvin "Tommy" Powers and Joseph "Frank" Powers.
She is survived by: her children, Joanna Forbes (Dempsey) of Shiloh, Lee Mcpherson (Gloria) of Camden and Preston Earl Mcpherson of Elizabeth City; and her sister Judith Wooten (Hank) of Elizabeth City. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
