He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth Lee Carper; his grandparents, Dan R., Gladys S. McClenney, Homer Payne and Beulah E. Carper; and his siblings, Dan, Gary and Debra.
He is survived by: his father Newton Robert Carper, Sr.; his wife Brenda; his aunt Dana M. Strew; his brother Randall K. Carper; his daughter Charlotte E. Ross (Randy); his grandson Cameron Ross; and his friend Anna. He is also survived by five nieces, three nephews and multiple cousins.
