She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Caleb, Sr. and Clara Jane Hunter Chappell; her husband Johnny Wayland Byrum, Jr.; her daughter Carol Denise Byrum; her brother Clarence Chappell, Jr.; and her nephews, Clarence Chappell, III and Carmen Chappell.
