John Bright Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Bright of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 1, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though John has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Fleetwood Bright and Carolyn Overman Bright. He is survived by: his son J. T. Bright; and his brothers, Ted Bright (Kay), Nelson Bright (Donna), Buddy Bright (Linda), Bruce Bright (Tami) and Todd Bright.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Twiford Funeral Homes (405 E Church St, Elizabeth City, NC 27907). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1401 Salem Church Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, or to the Weeksville Lions Club, 2760 Peartree Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
