She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Vernon Hoskins and Lula Hinton Hoskins. She is survived by: her husband Raymond "Mark" Thompson; her son Chris Jones (Jennifer); her sister Joanna King; her sisters-in-law, Shari Farless (Charles) and Gayle Norton; and her grandchildren, Brandon, Addison and Alex. She is also survived by four nieces; one nephew; four great-nieces and seven great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to cancer and leukemia charities such as the Duke Cancer Institute.
