As Anna departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Anna. Though Anna may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George "Pinky" Duncan and Delia Cooper Hufton; her husband Vincent "Goo Goo" Sawyer; her son Timothy "Chops" Sawyer; and her brothers, George "Buddy" Duncan and Cleatus Duncan.
She is survived by: her children, Dorothy Lamb (Maxie) and Mark Sawyer (Elaine); her daughter-in-law Nancy Sawyer; and her close friends, Becky Shapiro and Lawanda Evans. She is also survived by grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Twiford Funeral Homes (405 E Church St, Elizabeth City, NC 27907). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
