He is survived by: his wife Susie Meekins; his sons, Thomas Edward "Eddie" Newman, Jr. (Gwen) of Swan Quarter, Dell Allen Newman (Rhonda) of Swan Quarter and Richard Gordon Newman of Belhaven; his grandchildren, Misty Newman, Taylor Newman, Rylie Newman and Thomas Edward Newman, III (Kelly); his great grandchildren, Thomas Edward Newman, IV and William James Newman; and his siblings, Gilbert H. Newman of Pantego and Florence N. Abel of Swan Quarter.
