He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Tommy Gene, Sr. and Harriet Byrum Priest; his wife Patricia Collins "Patty" Priest; his daughter Emma Horton of Tyner; his brother Matt Priest of Edenton; and his aunts, Vicky Nuttycombe of Chesapeake, VA, Joyce Caulk of Gatesville and Teresa Brock of Manteo.
