She was predeceased by: her father James Freeland; her husband Braxton Lorenzo Jones; her son Barry B. Jones; and her siblings, Louise Dickens Twine, Leitha "Lea" Dilday and Louis Chappell.
She is survived by: her sons, Lonnie Jones (Dawn) of Tyner, Howard Jones of Tyner and Dale Jones (Amber) of Elizabeth City; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Alicia), Derek (Holly), Seth, Kayla (Shane), William, Michael, Barrett and Chandler; and her great grandchildren, Kaelan, Maxen, Seren, Chloe, Braxton, Lydia, Darren, Benson and Asher. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home & Crematory (735 Virginia Rd, Edenton, NC 27932). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Happy Home Church (644 Happy Home Rd, Tyner, NC 27980).
