With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marjorie Jones Smith of Edenton, North Carolina, who passed away on May 9, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her daughter G. Erie; her husband W. Carroll Smith; her son Jeff Smith; and her sister Faye Harrell. She is survived by: her children, Hazel Bass Jones and Glen Smith; her sisters, Helen Overton and Janet Winslow; her grandchildren, Amy Pierce, Heather Gooden (Corey), Daniel Smith (Jennifer) and Samantha Holland (Ryan); her great grandchildren, John Paul Pierce (Rayna), Jaycee Pierce, Kaleigh Morgan Furlough, Ayden Jeffery Furlough, Gary Ethan Thompson, Mallan Gooden, Jaxson Smith, Oliver Smith and Brady Holland; her daughter-in-law Gay Holton; and her grandson-in-law J. C. Pierce.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help defray medical and other related expenses.
