He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lyle E., Sr. and Betty Travers Dewees; his wife Michelle Deuvall Dewees; his children, Elizabeth Taylor (Nik), Jennifer Dewees, Lyle Dewees III (Christi) and Matthew Dewees; his sister Karen Dewees; and his pets, Kiki and Howie. He was also cherished by his youngest son and grandsons.
