Copeland and Rebecca Lassiter Copeland; his wife Anna Chesson Copeland; his sons, Luther Clifton Copeland, III of Arlington, VA and Bryan T. Hurdle; his grandchildren, Bryan and Kathryn Parker Hurdle of Hickory; his siblings, Rebecca Copeland Scarboro (Don William "Bill" Scarboro) of Franklin, VA and William Grant Copeland (Dawn) of Birmingham, AL; and his brothers-in-law, J. Parker Chesson, Jr. (Wynda) of Durham and Donald N. Chesson (Billie Rae) of Raleigh.
