It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lester Ray Copeland (Edenton, North Carolina), who passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Taylor Copeland and Celia Rae Nixon Copeland; and his brother Joseph Taylor Copeland. He is survived by: his wife Emily White Copeland; his children, Celia Kay Copeland Overton of Tyner and Kelly Ray Copeland of Belvidere; his grandson Michael Taylor Overton; and his brothers, Paul G. Copeland (Seanna) of LaGrange and H. Alan Copeland of Elizabeth City.
