She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifton Riley and Katie Stilley Brooks Dail; her son John Thomas "Johnny" Nixon; and her granddaughter Jodi Lynn Skinner. She is survived by: her husband David Thomas Nixon; her daughters, Teresa Kay Forward (Douglas) of Edenton and Judi Gregory (Lee) of Camden; her sister Mary Dail Karr of Corona, CA; her grandchildren, Allen Forward, Johnny Skinner (Shara) and Kristina Bryant (K. J.); and her great grandchildren, Melanie, Brianna, Isaiah, Sadie, Skylar, Kloe and Zoe.
