He was predeceased by: his parents, John Francis and Vivian Craddock Habit; and his sister Jeanette Habit Dowd. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Heninger Habit; his children, Julie Habit Spivey (Larry) of Edenton, Jackie Marie Habit of Columbia, SC and John Christopher Habit (Renee) of Red Oak; his brother Franklin Hannah Habit (Marjorie); and his grandchildren, Beau Spivey (Courtney), Kelly Gibson (Derek), Matthew Habit (Nicole), Josh Spivey (Melissa), Adam Perez and Kaila Johnson (Spencer). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
