She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Hay Stronach and Anne Putnam Stronach; and her daughter Isabella Cameron Benbury Wood. She is survived by: her husband Thomas'Tom'Wood of Edenton, NC; her children, Thomas Benbury Paxton Wood (Adrian) of Edenton, NC and Caroline Cameron Wood Hauser (Bobby) of Pilot Mountain, NC.; her grandchildren, Kimberly, Lyric, Thomas, Russell, Blair and Amos; and her sister Anne Genter (David) of Sewickley, PA. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (101 W Gale St, Edenton, NC 27932). A reception will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's Parish Hall (101 W Gale St, Edenton, NC 27932). Her adventurous spirit shone brightly during her time in Edenton, especially amidst the challenges and restrictions imposed by the pandemic. She was a founding member of the "Covid Quartet," a group of four resilient southern women who came together to play cards and share camaraderie, evoking the defiant spirit of Edenton's original women leaders who orchestrated the historic "Edenton Tea Party Resolves" in 1774.
