He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherrill Boyce, Sr. and Grace Stallings Boyce Monds; his wife Marjorie Ann Norman Boyce; his stepfather Sammie Hubert Monds; and his brothers, Nurnie, Sherrill Jr. and Milton Boyce.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert Ray Boyce of Edenton and James Carroll Boyce (Anna) of Hertford; his siblings, Darlene Monds of Massachusetts and Sammie Monds (Evelyn) of Elizabeth City; and his sister-in-law Dianna Swain of Edenton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
