She was predeceased by: her parents, George Adam and Hazel Boyce Hollowell; her son Anthony Shawn Ervin; and her brothers, G. A., Carroll, Joseph and Terry Hollowell.
She is survived by: her husband Michael F. "Mike" Slades; her stepdaughters, Misty Friend (Jason) of Edenton and Jessica Slades of Edenton; and her granddaughters, Emma Ervin, Juliana Slades and Aaliyah Friend.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home and Crematory (735 Virginia Rd, Edenton, NC 27932). A reception was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
