He was predeceased by: his parents, Alberta Faye Underwood and Harry Monroe Underwood; his sister Phyllis J. Underwood; and his son Jordan L. Underwood. He is survived by: his son Kyle Underwood (Kayluh Underwood); his grandson Tate Underwood of Eden; and his daughter Melissa Underwood. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Wesleyan Church (186 E Aiken Rd, Eden, NC 27288). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Wesleyan Church of Eden (186 E Aiken Rd, Eden, NC 27288).
