He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert J. Broadnax, Sr. and Mae Frances Williams Broadnax; and his siblings, Myra Watkins, Ashley Broadnax and Deon Broadnax.

He is survived by: his son Tobobsie Broadnax (Alexis); his siblings, Demetris Dews and Carlyle Broadnax, Sr. (Alethea); his stepson Harvey Slade; and his cousin Cortelia Linville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
