She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Mitchell Neaves and Holly Smith Neaves; her former husband Sanford Patterson "Buzzy" Gilley, III; and her brother Avery Neaves. She is survived by: her husband Sammy Cordell Going; her children, Jamie Gilley (Erin) of Eden, Emily Gilley of Atlanta, GA and Lauren Gilley of Roanoke, VA; her grandchildren, Henry, Isaac and Harper Gilley; her stepson James "Hamp" Going (Teri) of Wetumka, AL; her stepgrandsons, Clark Crommelin (Whitney) of Somerville, AL and John Hampton (Lottie) of Wetumka, AL; and her siblings, Michael Robinson Neaves of Elkin, NC, Charles "Chuck" Neaves, Jr. of Elkin, NC and Gayle Neaves Lyles of Elkin, NC..

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fair Funeral Home (432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288). A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Ancora Compassionate Care, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.

“Dearest Sam, Jamie, Lauren, and Emily, I absolutely adored your wife/mom. I still smile, and sometimes laugh out loud when I think of our long walks on the golf course, trips to D.C. and shared teaching experiences. I believe that everyone that knew her - loved her. We also shared our faith with one another. There is no doubt that sweet, fun Holly is with the angels. I am sorry that I will be out of town and will miss seeing you this weekend.
